Yo-el Cassell (director/choreographer/performer)
Yo-el Cassell, a graduate of The Boston Conservatory (Magna Cum Laude, 1997) receiving training in dance, mime, and puppetry. He has performed with numerous artists including The American Mime Theater, Rob Marshall (Chicago, the movie), Twyla Tharp, Sean Curran Dance, Spencer/Colton, Paul Taylor II, Julie Taymor, Palissimo, The Virginia Opera, Heidi Latsky Dance and has appeared in the PBS broadcast of Shining Time Station, the independent film What Alice Found. Mr. Cassell is also the artistic director of YC Movement Theatre. A recipient of The Lotte Kaliski Award for Gifted Artists and The Silo Residency Grant, his work has been presented at numerous venues including Joyce Soho (NYC), Dance Theater Workshop (NYC), The American Repertory Theater (MA), SummerStages Fellowship (MA), The Walnut Hill School for The Arts (MA), St. Mark's Church (NYC), Symphony Space (NYC), Shadowbox Theater (NYC) and Skidmore College (NY) where he was Guest Artist in Residence. Yo-el has also choreographed for the independent film, Cultivating Stillness and recently founded The Horzons Worksop Series, providing a forum to create the awareness of dancers as artists. Jeffrey Fracé (performer)
Jeffrey recently performed the world premiere of 'Mermaid' by Ellen McLaughlin at 59E59 Theaters. Other acting credits include appearances at New York Shakespeare Festival, Kennedy Center, La MaMa, Caux Mountain House, Iberoamericano Festival of Bogota, Actors Theatre of Louisville and Stonington Opera House. He is an Associate Artist of Anne Bogart's SITI Company, with whom he performs, tours and teaches. Dance-theatre collaborations include Pavel Zustiak/palissimo, Elizabeth Haselwood, Marie-Christine Giordano and Dixie Fun Dance Theatre. In addition to performing, Jeffrey directs dance, theatre and opera. Writing credits include 'In My Bedroom', presented in workshop at Dance Space Center, and the musical 'The Story of Little Horse', which will premier in Nashville and New York in 2006 (please see www.point-b.org for more). Frances Gay Teves Sedayao (performer) is a Philippine native whose dance and martial arts training began at CSU, Hayward. She has danced and performed since throughout the Bay Area, studied at the Alvin Ailey School in NYC, and toured locally and nationally with Pilipino composer and recording artist, Joey Ayala and Pearl Ubungen Dancers and Musicians. Her background includes works with NUBA Dance Theatre, Dandelion Dance theater, Veronica Combs‚ Liquid Fire Project, Anne Bluethenthal and Dancers, Laura Ellis, Robert Henry Johnson, Paufve Dance, Nina Haft & Company, Purple Moon Dance Project, Facing East Dance & Music, among others. Also an independent artist, Frances has presented original works in several SF/ Bay Area venues as well as Vancouver, BC. She is a Serpent Source Foundation grant recipient and was honored as The Dance Featured Artist for the 2003 APAture in San Francisco. Frances co-founded and co-produced Vortex Collective, a dance/theatre collective that launched its first San Francisco premiere in December, 2003. She continues to be in collaboration with several artists, peers, and choreographers for future projects and shows in the Bay Area for the 2005-2006 season. In the meantime, Frances is having a marvelous time in the process of creating "Moonlight Interior." |

Melodie Jeffery (administrative, rehearsal director /performer), a born and bred California girl, received her degree in Theater Arts/Dance from Cal State University, Hayward. Her modern/ballet training in the SF bay area (ODC Theater, Shawl-Anderson Dance Center) led her to perform with Randee Paufve, Nina Haft, and Dandelion Dance Theater. Since relocating to NYC, Ms. Jeffery has performed with Bernier Dance, Pascal Rekeort, Yo-el Cassell, and is now delighted to be a part of YC Movement Theater. When not dancing, Melodie fulfills her passion of teaching children at The Brearley School, Peridance Center and the Mark Morris Dance Center. Ms. Jeffery finds inspiration in Yo-el Cassell’s choreographic process and is grateful to join this cast in discovering the beauty of the inner soul. |

Kristen Nastanski (performer)
Kristen graduated from Point Park College Conservatory of Performing Arts with a degree in Dance with a minor in Business Management. She began her dance training many moons ago in a small town in Pennsylvania where she had the great privilege of studying tap with Vaudeville hoofer David Blight. Ms. Nastanski has recently performed professionally with Bernier Dance, Phoenix Rising Dance Creations, and independent choreographers Pascal Rekeort, Stephanie Tack, and Holly Heiser. Ms. Nastanski loves sharing the art of dance with children and has taught dance extensively throughout the tri-state area. She currently resides in Norwalk, CT where she is studio manager and dance instructor at Performance Dance. Ms. Nastanski also specializes in teaching Pilates, health and nutrition classes, and leadership workshops for adolescents and adults. This is her first performance with YC Movement Theater and she is very thankful for the opportunity to work with all of the incredible spirits involved in the journey of creating Moonlight Interior. |
